As part of the summer camp “Come to the village” held at the Sheki Olympic Sports Complex with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in partnership with the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and organized by the Youth Academy of ANAS Jamila Novruzova, a junior researcher at the Department of Digital folklore and artificial intelligence of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS made a presentation on the topic “The role of modern technologies in the promotion and protection of rural folklore in the digital environment”.

In her presentation Jamila Novruzova noted that one of the main problems facing the preservation of rural folklore was the weakening of intergenerational transmission. It was noted that migration from villages to cities, changes in lifestyles and the distancing of young people from traditional environments had affected the previous transmission mechanisms of folklore. In addition, the opportunities created by digital technologies for the preservation of folklore and its dissemination to wider audiences were discussed.

At the end of the speech the importance of the activities of the ANAS Institute of Folklore in collecting, studying, documenting and presenting folklore materials to society was mentioned.

The presentation continued in an interactive format, answering participants' questions and exchanging views on the preservation and presentation of rural folklore in the digital environment.
