Within the framework of “World Garapapag Turks Scientific Seminar” and “Ashiqs’ Festival Dedicated to Ashiq Alasgar and Ashiq Shenlik” held in Kars, Türkiye PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Ilhama Gasabova visited the grave of Ashiq Shenlik in the Childir district of Ardahan Province and gave an interview to Serhat Birikim TV.

In the interview Ilhama Gasabova shared her views on the prominent place of Ashiq Shenlik in the common cultural memory of the Turkic world. She noted that Ashiq Shenlik’s activity were also widely known within the Azerbaijani ashiq tradition and that his rich legacy continues to be preserved and transmitted through the master-apprentice tradition.
