The second volume of Love for Crimea, authored by Ali Shamil (Ali Huseyn oglu Shamilov), a researcher at the Institute of Folklore of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), as well as a distinguished scholar and publicist, has been published by Imza Publishing House in Baku. The volume brings together a rich collection of scholarly and journalistic articles, along with documentary materials, dedicated to exploring the historical, literary and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and the Crimean Turks.
The book includes studies on the life and creative legacy of Fatma Gadri, one of the first professional female actresses; the renowned Crimean Tatar writer Jengiz Daghji and his literary works, victims of political repression, the tragic fate of Asan Rifatov, a Crimean Turk and the first chairman of the Azerbaijan Composers’ Union and the deportation and exile of the Crimean Turks during the Soviet era. The publication also features articles on the history behind Ali Sangarli's poem Bakhchisaray, prominent figures of the Crimean national movement and distinguished personalities of the Turkic world.
The second volume of Love for Crimea is regarded as an important scholarly resource for the study of the literary, academic and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and the Crimean Turks. It also contributes to preserving the shared historical memory of the Turkic peoples and passing this heritage on to future generations.
The editors of the volume are Zera Bekirova and Jamila Niyaz gizi.
