The proceedings of the International Scientific Symposium titled “From Ashiq Alasgar to Uzeyir Hajibeyli: The Cultural Codes of the Turkic World” have been published

The proceedings of the international scientific symposium on “From Ashiq Alasgar to Uzeyir Hajibeyli: The Cultural Codes of the Turkic World” jointly organized by the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the Azerbaijan National Conservatory and held on the 25th – 26th of September, 2025, have been published in accordance with the relevant decision of the Presidium of ANAS.

The publication includes a total of 52 scientific papers presented within the framework of the symposium. The papers explore various aspects of the shared cultural heritage of Turkic peoples, ashiq creativity, musical traditions, folklore and national memory, the preservation and transmission of cultural codes, as well as the spiritual and cultural values of the Turkic world.

It should be recalled that the International Symposium commenced on the 25th September 25 in the Circular Conference Hall of the Main Building of ANAS. The opening ceremony was attended by the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, members of the Presidium of ANAS, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Murad Huseynov, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Professor Aktoty Raimkulova, the leadership of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, members of the Milli Majlis, heads of ANAS scientific institutions and organizations, scholars from Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as media representatives.

It should also be noted that the 464-page conference proceedings were published by the Publishing House “Elm”. The scientific editor of the book is Doctor of Sciences in Philology Hikmat Guliyev, while the compiler is PhD, Associate Professor Afaq Khurramgizi, PhD in Philology.
