The IV (91) issue of the journal “Dede Gorgud” for 2025, the scientific and literary publication of the Institute of Folklore of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, has been published. The collection, published by the decision of the Scientific Council of the ANAS Institute of Folklore, acts as an important scientific platform for the study of Gorgud studies, folklore studies, Turkic epic memory, ashiq art, regional folklore environment and modern cultural heritage problems.

The editor-in-chief of the journal is Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Professor Ramazan Gafarli, the deputy editor-in-chief is Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor Aynura Safarova and the executive secretary is Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Khalida Mammadova. The editorial board includes well-known scientists, academicians and international researchers from Azerbaijan and the Turkic world. The 2025/IV issue of the collection consists of the sections “Gorgud Studies: Searches, Discoveries”, “Folklore Studies: Problems, Studies”, “New Publications” and “New Examples from Azerbaijani Folklore”. The issue includes three scientific articles on Gorgud studies, six on folklore studies, one presentation-review and folklore materials collected from various regions.

In the section “Gorgud Studies: Searches, Discoveries” section the articles by Professor Ramazan Gafarli, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Khalida Mete and Imran Verdiyev are presented.

In the section “Folklore: problems, studies” the articles such as “Psycho-semantics of the pseudonym “Azafli”: the latent meaning layer of social protest” by Doctor of Sciences in Philology Hikmat Guliyev, the research about the folk song “Sari gelin” by Professor Ramazan Gafarli, “Ancient tradition of baking bread in Nakhchivan” by PhD Aposh Valiyev, “The Iraqi-Turkmen trace in the epic “Koroglu” epic” by Orkhan Isayev, “The mythical concept of creation in the “Oguznames” by Elchin Galiboglu and others have been published.

In the section “New Publications” Asif Hajili’s review dedicated to the scientific work of Professor Ramazan Gafarli has been given.

It should be noted that articles published in the scientific and literary collection “Dede Gorgud”, which is included in the system “Index Copernicus”, will also be published with a DOI index starting in 2023.
