The event titled “The Legacy of the Great Leader and the Pride of Victory” dedicated to the 103^rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and May 9 - Victory Day was held at the library № 1 of the Sabail District Central Library of the Baku City Main Department of Culture.

Khayala Agayeva, a leading researcher at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, participated in the event and made a report on the theme “Heydar Aliyev and “The Book of Dede Gorgud”. In the report the activities of National Leader Heydar Aliyev about to protect and promote national and spiritual values were told. It was noted that it was during Heydar Aliyev’s reign that a significant turning point occurred in the field of research, publication and promotion of the epic “The Book of Dede Gorgud” and the epic was re-entered into scientific and cultural circulation.

During the speech, the importance of the decree signed to celebrate the 1300th anniversary of the epic “The Book of Dede Gorgud”, events organized at the UNESCO level and scientific research conducted in the field of Gorgud studies was discussed. It was also noted that even today, with the attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev, consistent work was being carried out to study and promote national and cultural heritage.

The report was met with interest by the participants of the event.
