The guests from Türkiye Aliriza Ozdemir, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, and Associate Professor Ozlem Ozdemir, lecturer at Ankara Haji Bayram Veli University were at the Institute of Folklore ANAS.

The director of the Institute, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Associate Professor Hikmat Guliyev greeted the guests and provided information about the scientific activities of the institution, its main research directions and the work carried out in the field of folklore studies.

The scientist noted that recent research in the field of folklore studies was based on socio-anthropological and socio-cultural methodologies, different from traditional approaches and benefits from the experience of Turkish folklore studies in this field.

The head of the Department of Folklore theory, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Professor Fuzuli Bayat also participated in the meeting and shared his views on the theoretical problems of Azerbaijani folklore and modern scientific approaches.

The guests provided information about folklore research carried out in Turkey, especially the work done to study and preserve the Alevi-Bektashi cultural heritage.

At the end of the meeting, Director Hikmat Guliyev presented the publications of the Folklore Institute to the guests and the guests, in turn, presented the scientific books of the institutions they represented to the Folklore Institute.
