Professor of the Institute of Folklore spoke at the International Symposium in Turkey and participated in a number of scientific and cultural events

On April 17-18, 2026 “The 3rd International Tradition of Wisdom from Turkestan to Anatolia: Hüseyin Gazi” symposium was held at Hittite University in Chorum, Turkey. Fuzuli Bayat, professor of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, head of the Department of Folklore Theory, participated in the event and delivered a report at the opening session.

In his presentation about “Seyyid Huseyin Gazi: The Originary Transformation of a Historical Personality” Professor Fuzuli Bayat analyzed scientifically the issues of historical figures gaining epic identity, the process of epic creation, as well as the stages of formation of the “Battal Gazi” epic in Anatolia and Azerbaijan, the interrelationships among myth legend, and historical reality.

After the symposium, on April 19, 2026, Professor Fuzuli Bayat was a guest of the program broadcast “Rhythm of Dance” on the Turkish “Tele News” channel. Speaking on the topic “From Shaman to Halay and Yalli: Philosophy and Symbolism of Dance and Dance in Azerbaijan” within the program, the scientist shared his thoughts on the spiritual roots, ritual origins and symbolic content of the dance culture of the Turkic peoples.

On the same day, Professor Fuzuli Bayat also held a master class on the topic “Organizational Strategy of the Turkic World: Socio-Cultural Paradigm” for the youth of the Turkish Red Crescent Society. In the master class the importance of a common history, a common language, a common alphabet and common strategic goals as the main directions for the formation of unity in the Turkic world were mentioned.
