The event on the topic “Nowruz Traditions and Modern Youth” was held at ANAS. The event was attended by staff of the Presidium of ANAS, representatives of scientific institutions and organizations, as well as young scientists. At the event, PhD in Philology Khalida Mammadova, leading researcher at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS made a presentation titled “Nowruz in Azerbaijani Folklore: tradition, memory and spiritual values”. The presentation scientifically addressed the place of the Nowruz holiday in the system of national and spiritual values of the Azerbaijani people, its historical roots and the ritual elements preserved in folkloric memory.

At the end, the speaker noted that celebrating Nowruz rituals in accordance with tradition and properly understanding their essence were of special importance for passing national and spiritual values on to future generations. The participants of the event exchanged views on the topic.
