The concert program entitled “The sound of the instrument “saz”, the breath of the word” dedicated to the 80^th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding folklorist-scientist, Honored Cultural Worker Elkhan Mammadli was held at the International Mugham Center, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Institute of Folklore of ANAS.

At the event a short film about the life and activities of Elkhan Mammadli, prepared by the “Folklore Studio” of the ANAS Institute of Folklore, was shown. The film reflected the scientist’s scientific research path, the folklore samples collected by him and the fundamental researches and his memoirs.

Director of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Sciences in Philology Hikmat Guliyev spoke about the services of the well-known scientist, late folklorist Elkhan Mammadli in the field of research, collection and promotion of folklore.

According to PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Ilhama Gasabova’s thought Elkhan Mammadli had an exceptional contribution to the upbringing of young ashiqs and their love for the ashiq art.

Elkhan Mammadli’s brother, Eldar Mammadli, thanked the event organizers on behalf of his family.
