Director of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Sciences in Philology Hikmat Guliyev spoke about the main directions of the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the institute for 2025 in an interview with the newspaper “Iki Sahil”. In the interview it is noted about the importance of studying folklore not only as a legacy of the past, but also as a living and dynamic cultural memory.

The works carried out in the direction of collection, systematization and publication of folklore of western Azerbaijan, Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur were especially noted. The director also mentioned about the issues of expanding international scientific cooperation, translating folklore heritage into foreign languages and introducing it into international scientific circulation. The perspectives of digitalization, creation of national digital folklore database and application of artificial intelligence were highlighted in the interview. It was also informed about the strategic goals and new scientific projects of the Institute of Folklore for the coming years.
