Corresponding Member of ANAS Ertegin Salamzade: “In the reporting year the scientific cooperation relations of the Institute of Folklore with the Turkic world attract special attention”
These words were told by Ertegin Salamzade, Director of the Institute of Architecture and Art of ANAS, Corresponding Member of ANAS, in his speech at the Report meeting dedicated to the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the ANAS Institute of Folklore for 2025. Drawing attention to the achievements of the Institute of Folklore in the past year the scientist mentioned that during this period a new breath and dynamic development had been observed in the institute. He shared his thoughts on the projects and events implemented in accordance with the orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including the symposium dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, in which the Institute of Architecture and Art was a partner.
Corresponding member of ANAS Ertegin Salamzade drew special attention to the problems dedicated to the two symposiums organized by the Institute of Folklore - the concepts of cultural identity and cultural codes of the Turkic world, noting that these concepts were both keywords and, in a certain sense, a “methodological tool”. The scholar also expressed his expectations regarding the future development of the concept of cultural identity in the Turkic world.
Drawing attention to the statistical indicators in the report of the Institute of Folklore, Corresponding Member of ANAS Ertegin Salamzade noted that the ratio of the number of scientific staffs to articles was positive, and in this regard, similar results had been achieved with the Institute of Architecture and Art. However, he mentioned that the performance of the Institute of Folklore in book printing was very high - 51 books had been published, 14 of which were in abroad.
At the same time, in his speech, the scientist noted the importance of creating a national indexing system in Azerbaijan in the future in terms of promoting scientific research in the humanities and social sciences in general and promoting achievements in this field and mentioned the need to take institutional steps in this area.
At the end of his speech Corresponding Member of ANAS Ertegin Salamzade highly appreciated the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the ANAS Institute of Folklore for 2025 and expressed his belief that this development would continue in the future.
