The Scientific Council discussed the important results achieved in the collection, research and publication of folklore heritage in 2025
The important results achieved in the direction of collecting, researching and publishing folklore in 2025 were discussed at an expanded meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Folklore. The meeting, held in a hybrid format, provided detailed information on the collection, research and publication work carried out by a number of departments throughout the year.
First, the head of the Department of Collection and Systematization of Folklore, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Ilkin Rustamzade presented the report of the department for 2025. It was noted that in 2025, the department conducted research on 6 topics, 3 of which were completed and 3 were ongoing. Ilkin Rustamzade said that in 2025, the department’s employees published articles in local and foreign scientific journals, as well as at a number of conferences.
Then, the head of the Department of Folklore of Turkic Peoples of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Afzaladdin Asgar presented a report on the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the department. He said that the department achieved important results in the field of researching the cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples, collecting, translating and preparing oral samples for publication during 2025. During the year the employees of the department participated in a total of 27 conferences and symposiums at the foreign and republican levels, further strengthening the representation of the department in the international scientific arena. In total, 34 articles were published by the employees of the Department of Folklore of Turkic Peoples in 2025, 6 scientific books were published and 6 articles were submitted to journals indexed in SCOPUS and 2 articles to Web of Science scientific databases.
Then, the head of the Department of Mythology of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Professor Seyfaddin Rzasoy gave the extensive information about the activities of the department, directions of scientific research and important results achieved in the current year. In total, during 2025, the employees of the Department published 55 articles at international conferences and symposiums, 8 scientific books were published, 3 articles were submitted to journals indexed in SCOPUS and 2 articles to Web of Science scientific databases.
One of the important achievements of the department in 2025 was that Professor Seyfaddin Rzasoy was awarded the medal “Progress” for his contributions to the development of Azerbaijani science by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, dated November 5, 2025.
At the meeting of the Scientific Council, the head of the Department of Dede Gorgud of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Professor Ramazan Gafarli presented the report about the department for 2025. He said that the department systematically continued its activities throughout 2025 and carried out a number of important scientific and publishing works.
During the year the employees of the department published 7 scientific articles abroad and 18 in the republic. The department participated in 23 conferences of international and republican importance, presented reports and demonstrated its scientific position through speeches in discussions.
One of the important achievements of the department in 2025 was that Professor Ramazan Gafarli was awarded the medal “Progress” for his contributions to the development of Azerbaijani science by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, dated November 5, 2025.
In general, in accordance with the activity plan of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS in 2025, important results were achieved in the fields of fundamental scientific research, theoretical studies, collection and publishing activities and international cooperation. These results further strengthen the strategic role of the institute in the study of Azerbaijani folklore and cultural heritage.
