The 1st International Turkic World Traditional Music and Cultural Identity Symposium has ended
The First International Turkic World Traditional Music and Cultural Identity Symposium, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Kalvali Ali Dede, a master of Azerbaijani zurna-balaban art, has successfully concluded its work.
The symposium included three panel sessions on the 20th of November and six panel sessions on the 21st of November, as well as three online sessions. A total of 77 scientific presentations were heard, including plenary lectures.
The closing session of the symposium was held in the main building of ANAS. The meeting was chaired by the Director of the Institute of Folklore, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Associate Professor Hikmat Guliyev, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Architecture and Art of ANAS Ertegin Salamzade, Vice-Rector of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, Professor Lala Huseynova and Rector of the Ankara University of Music and Fine Arts Erhan Ozden.
The speakers highly appreciated the scientific importance of the symposium and mentioned the role of such platforms in the study of the common cultural heritage of the Turkic world and its transmission to future generations. The speakers noted that the reports presented at the symposium not only open up new research directions, but also make a significant contribution to strengthening the cultural integration of the Turkic world.
At the closing session, the panel leaders - Doctor of Art History, Professor Abbasgulu Najafzade, Professor Kubilay Gurbuz, Professor Ramil Aliyev and Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor Cholpan Turumbayeva – mentioned the importance of the scientific discussions held over the two days. They noted that the thematic richness of the reports discussed and the bringing together of various scientific directions further increased the overall scientific value of the symposium.
It should be noted that the event was jointly organized by the ANAS Institute of Folklore, ANAS Institute of Architecture and Art, Azerbaijan National Conservatory, Ankara University of Music and Fine Arts, Erzinjan Binali Yildirim University, Kars Kafkas University State Conservatory, Ahmed Yesevi International Turkish-Kazakh University, Azerbaijan Ashiq Union, International Mugham Center, Union Printing Group LLC and “For Copyright” Public Union.
