The employee of the Folklore Institute gave a report at the International Conference
Maleyka Mammadova, leading researcher at the Department of Mythology of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor, delivered a scientific report at the “The 12th International Symposium on Children’s and Youth Literature” organized in Gaziantep, Turkey.
The event was jointly organized by the Children’s and Youth Literature Writers’ Association, Gaziantep Governorship of the Republic of Turkey, UNESCO Turkish National Commission, Gaziantep Provincial Directorate of National Education, Gaziantep University, Gaziantep Islamic University of Science and Technology and QBB Cultural Institutions and provided the participation of experts from various countries. Delivering a report titled “Ritualistic Practices for Children in Azerbaijani and Anatolian Culture” Associate Professor Maleyka Mammadova presented her scientific observations on the functional essence, semantic structure, archaic layers and ethno-cultural foundations of rituals performed for children in the Azerbaijani and Anatolian geographies. The report drew attention in terms of the analysis of semantic models of ritual behaviors related to the childhood stage in the context of modern folklore studies.
In addition, PhD Maleyka Mammadova moderated one of the sections organized within the symposium and performed effective work in conducting scientific discussions, identifying connections between presentations and coordinating the general scientific direction of the section.
It should be noted that the 12th edition of the “International Symposium on Children's and Youth Literature", which has been held annually in October since 2014, is of particular importance on the occasion of the declaration of 2025 as the Year of the Family. The main theme of the symposium of this year has been determined as “Children, Family and Children’s Literature / Family in Children’s Literature”.
