The ideas and initiatives presented within the framework of the 1st International Turkic World Traditional Music and Cultural Identity Symposium will serve to systematically investigate the common musical heritage of the Turkic peoples, to form new research projects and to further strengthen regional cultural cooperation.

These thoughts were expressed by Professor Kamila Dadash-zade, rector of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, during her speech at the 1st International Symposium on Traditional Music and Cultural Identity of the Turkic World, held at the Central Scientific Library of ANAS.

The scientist mentioned that the symposium played an important platform for the cultural integration of the Turkic peoples, an environment of scientific cooperation and close unity around common cultural values.

Professor Kamila Dadash-zade noted that the main goal of the event was to summarize research conducted in the field of traditional musical culture of Turkic peoples, shared new scientific results and discussed current approaches.

Professor Kamila Dadash-zade also noted the book “Ali Dede’s Peak of Azerbaijani Music” by the musicologist-scientist Tahira Karimova, dedicated to the work of master artist Kalvali Ali Dede, this year and evaluated this publication as a valuable contribution to the musical heritage of the Turkic world. She mentioned that the book served as an important resource for both the scientific community and traditional music researchers.
