Professor of the Institute of Folklore made a report at the International Conference
Head of the Department “Dede Gorgud” of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Professor Ramazan Gafarli participated in the II. International Symposium on Studies of Turkic Language and Literature in the Balkans (BALTES 2025), organized by the International Balkan University (IBU) and Studies of Turkic Language and Literature in the Balkans (BALTED) in Skopje, North Macedonia.
Professor Ramazan Gafarli, who made a lecture on the topic “Semiotic Archetypes of Turkic Epics and Dynamics of Synergetic Development: A Comparative Analysis with Balkan Epics”, examined the deep structural codes, archaic memory layers, collective consciousness model and synergistic development mechanism of the Turkic epic system and presented this model in a comparative context with the Balkan epic tradition.
The problem in the report was approached based on modern multidisciplinary methodology, including semiotics, synergetic, archetype theory, comparative folklore and discourse analysis. Professor Ramazan Gafarli presented a number of scientific results in his report. It should be noted that BALTES 2025, the important platform for assessing Balkan-Turkish cultural relations on a historical and current level, is being held with the aim of deepening Turkological research on a regional and international scale.
