                A memorandum of scientific cooperation was signed between the Institute of Folklore of ANAS and the State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi
The Memorandum on scientific cooperation was signed between the Institute of Folklore of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of the international scientific-practical conference “The Legacy of Dede Gorgud: Common Epic Values of the Turkic World” held in the city of Kizilorda, Kazakhstan.
The document was signed by the Director of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Professor Hikmat Guliyev and the Director of the State Literary Museum named after Alisher Navoi, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Professor Jabbor Eshonkulov.
The purpose of the Memorandum is to strengthen scientific cooperation among the scientists from Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, implement joint scientific projects and expand the study of the common folklore heritage of the Turkic peoples.
The document envisages joint activities of the parties in the following areas:
- preparation and implementation of joint scientific projects;
 - support for the training of scientific personnel and exchange of experience;
 - organization of joint scientific conferences, symposiums and seminars;
 - study of archival and manuscript materials and preparation for joint publication;
 - exchange of scientific information and publications;
 - organization of joint scientific expeditions.
 
The Memorandum is drawn up in Azerbaijani, Uzbek and English and will be valid for five years.
