The event titled “The Zangezurname of Academy: From Folklore Collections to Academic Researches” is an important platform for the presentation of collection and research work related to the rich folklore heritage of Zangezur, Karabakh, and Western Azerbaijan. “At the same time, these books are of strategic importance in terms of preserving the cultural and spiritual geography of Azerbaijan, ethnic and national memory resources and delivering them to future generations. The works presented at the exhibition in folklore, ethnography, linguistics, literature and other directions serve to prevent threats to ethnic and national values in the current age of digital transformations, globalization and virtualization and strengthen cultural and intellectual immunity in this direction. It should be necessary to know that today our society lives not only in a real sociocultural environment, but also in a virtual sociocultural world. From this point of view, it is necessary for peoples to exist in the digital world, preserving their spiritual values, literature, history, folklore traditions.

Director of the Institute of Folklore Doctor of Science in Philology, associate professor Hikmat Guliyev said those words during his speech at the event “The Zangezurname of Academy: From Folklore Collections to Academic Researches” organized by ANAS within the framework of the 11^th Baku International Book Exhibition.

The scientist expressed confidence that the discussions held at the event and the opinions expressed would guide new research on Zangazur and serve to further deepen future researches.
