The event dedicated to September 27 – Memorial Day was held at the Institute of Folklore of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. First, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played. Then, the memory of the martyrs who died for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence. Then the documentary film “44 days in Karabakh” was shown.

Opening the event director of the Institute of Folklore Doctor of Sciences in Philology Hikmat Guliyev brought to the attention that according to the relevant order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev September 27 was annually celebrated in our country as a Memorial Day.

He said that the second Karabakh War, which began in 2020 on September 27, was the beginning of the road to the Great Victory. In his speech the director noted that in the Patriotic War along with the soldiers and officers of the Azerbaijani army, our people showed solidarity with all their might. It was as a result of this unity and perseverance that our lands were liberated from occupation. Hikmat Guliyev also mentioned that the principled position of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in his interviews with foreign media ensures the success of our country in the diplomatic and information war.
