The folklorist scientist made a report at the International Conference
On the 30th of April in 2025 the III International scientific-practical conference on the “Eastern World: actual issues of national and world orientalism” was held in Chelyabinsk, Russia, organized by the Eurasian and Eastern Faculty of Chelyabinsk State University. The leading researcher of the department Mythology of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, PhD in Philology, associate professor Shakir Albaliyev made the online report on the theme “Ethno-cultural form of self – expression – Khidir Nabi holiday”. The report noted that Khidir Nabi holiday was a form of ethno-cultural self-expression and self-organization for the first time and mentioned its direct connection with the concept of “culture”. The report, which focused on the place, role and function of the holiday in the cultural system, also presented conclusions on the scheme “culture-traditional culture – ethno-cultural”.
Focusing on the main essence of Khidir Nabi holiday, which occupies a special place in the life of Turkic peoples, it was mentioned that it had an ethnic commonality and the connection of this holiday with the ritual system, which left an imprint on visual, musical and literary memory.
