The employees of the Institute of Folklore attended the 20th International Orientalists conference
On the 23rd of April the 20th International Orientalists conference was held, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birth of Academician Ubaydulla Karimov, organized by the Al-Biruni Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. The conference was an international platform for discussing the history, culture, economy, literature of the Eastern countries, preservation and restoration of manuscripts, Islamic studies, textual studies and other scientific directions. The employees of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS also participated in this prestigious international scientific event organized in hybrid format. Leading researcher of the department Mythology of the Institute of Folklore, PhD in Philology, associate professor Maleyka Mammadova made an online speech on the theme “Birth rituals in Azerbaijani and Uzbek folklore” and presented comparative folklore materials on the system of common beliefs and birth ceremonies of the two peoples.
Leading researcher of the same department, PhD in Philology Sevinj Gasimova made an online report on the theme “Features of the epic-mythological meaning of the image of Garachukha in fairy tales”.
