By the decision of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan dated February 26, 2025, the leading researcher of the department Mythology of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, PhD in Philology, associate professor Shakir Albaliyev was admitted to the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan. On the 5^th of March the secretary of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan Salim Babullaoglu presented the the membership card to our employee.

Since 2009 the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Khudaferin”, the veteran of the First Karabakh War Shakir Albaliyev has been the author of numerous literary, critical and artistic-journalistic articles, more than 10 books. For his professional activity, he was awarded with the awards “Golden Pen”, “Omar Faig Nemanzade”, “Araz” and the honorary title of “Professional journalist”.

In the works of Shakir Albaliyev the ritual-mythological semantics of folklore samples, which occupy an important place in the historical memory of the Azerbaijani people, the place of creation symbolism in a single ethno-culturological system, the role of holidays in the preservation of ethno-social unity and other problems were studied widely and a number of scientific innovations were presented.

In 2024 Sh.Albaliyev defended the dissertation on the theme “Ritual-mythological basis and ethno-culturological semantics of Azerbaijani folk holidays” for the degree of Doctor of Sciences in Philology.
