Leading researcher of the department Dede Gorgud of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, PhD in Philology, associate professor Sabina Isayeva made a speech in the documentary film “Theme is music: Ashiq Shamshir” broadcast on Nakhchivan television. She spoke about Ashiq Shamshir’s life, a prominent representative of the Azerbaijani ashiq art of the 20^th century, the characteristic features of his creativity. He said that Ashiq Shamshir played an exceptional role in the development of Azerbaijani ashiq poetry of the 20^th century with his rich poetry and was one of the last representatives awarded the title of “Dede”.
