The event dedicated to the 8^th of March – International Women’s Day was held at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS. Opening the event, Director of the Institute, Associate Professor Hikmat Guliyev spoke about the role of Azerbaijani women in society and noted that women had always been respected in our country. He mentioned that today the moral qualities of the Azerbaijani woman, the achievements in scientific and scientific-organizational activities got by the women are based on the national historical traditions.

Associate Professor Hikmat Guliyev noted that women scientists and specialists had a special role in the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Institute of Folklore, in achieving important achievements. Mentioning that women were the backbone of the family and society, the scientist congratulated all the ladies and wished them good health, family happiness and success in their scientific activities.

Scientific secretary of the Institute, PhD., Associate Professor Elchin Abbasov and chairman of the Trade Union of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, PhD., Associate Professor Aynur Ibrahimova congratulated the ladies on the International Women’s Day and told their best wishes.

Then deputy director for scientific work of the Institute, PhD., Associate Professor Afag Ramazanova, PhD., Associate Professor Ilhama Gasabova and PhD. Gumru Shahriyar expressed their gratitude to the leadership of the Institute for the initiative shown in holding the event and attention to the ladies.

Then a group of female employees of the Institute of Folklore was awarded.  Some of them were awarded the Honorary Diploma of the Free Trade Union of ANAS, the others - the gratitude of the Institute of Folklore and commemorative photos were taken.
