On the 28^th of October Kazim Shekibnia, from the city of Tabriz, living in the United States and his son David visited the department of South Azerbaijan folklore of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS. The head of the department is Doctor of Sciences in Philology, associate professor Matanat Abbasova warmly welcomed the guests and gave detailed information about the collection, publication and research work carried out during the ten years of the establishment of the department. The scientist mentioned the importance of increasing attention to the expansion of literary and cultural ties with our compatriots living in South Azerbaijan, as well as living and working all over the world.

Kazim Shekibnia informed about the cultural and mass events held together with our compatriots living there during his life in the United States, invited prominent mugham performers from Azerbaijan and talked about the organization of their concerts.

Our compatriot and historian-ethnographer David, who works as a businessman in Washington, sincerely answered the questions of the department staff and expressed their satisfaction with the continuation of such cultural ties.
