During the 10^th – 11^th of October in 2024 the International Symposium entitled “Islam and culture in the Caucasus” was held in Kars, Turkey, jointly organized by Qafqaz University, Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, Nakhchivan State University, with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Turkish Airlines and Kars City Municipality.  At the symposium, which was attended by many scientists from 12 countries, a total of 85 reports were heard. Leading researcher of the department Mythology of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, PhD in Philology, associate professor Maleyka Mammadova made a report on the theme “Influence of Islam in birth rituals in Azerbaijani culture”.
