Employees of the Institute of Folklore made reports at the International Symposium

XI International Symposium on Children and Youth Literature was held in Ankara, Turkey on October 04-05, 2024. The symposium organized by the Union of Writers of Children and Youth Literature, TURKSOY and UNESCO National Commission of Turkey was dedicated to the theme “Fairy tales, epics, legends, mythology, folk literature and intangible cultural heritage”.

The reports by the employees of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS were also listened online at the symposium. The reports such as “Mythological semantics of the images of the ogre and the chick in the tale “Jirtdan” by professor Ramil Aliyev, “Children’s games in Shirvan region of Azerbaijan” by PhD, associate professor Elchin Galiboglu, “Saz instruments from archaic memory to the present day” by PhD, associate professor Ilhama Gasabova, “The stone games in Azerbaijani and Anatolian culture” by PhD, associate professor Malayka Mammadova,  “Formulas in Azerbaijani children’s fairy tales” by PhD Shahla Huseynli, “40 days ceremony performed for children in Nakhchivan folk culture” by junior scientific researcher Gumral Mirzayeva, “Features of Azerbaijani and Arabic riddles” by senior scientific researcher Surayya Alizade, “Lullabies are the divine power of folklore” by junior scientific researcher Jamila Novruzova were made.
