Lecture on the theme “Genre synthesis in the relationship of folklore and written literature”
Lectures for doctoral students studying philosophy and doctoral studies are continuing at the Institute of Folklore within the framework of events held in the direction of popularization of Science in the institutions of ANAS.
On the 24th September in 2024 the head of the department of South Azerbaijan folklore of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, associate professor Matanat Abbasova made a lecture on “Genre synthesis in folklore and written literature relations”. It was noted in the lecture that the synthesis of genres, genre hybridization takes the main place in the study of the issues of interaction of folklore and written literature.
This process is more widespread in the modern literary stage. Based on the creative synthesis of such an oral epic type as a fairy tale, epic, genre hybridizations in literature as a fairy tale-story, fairy tale-narrative, myth-novel, epic-story, epic-narrative, epic-novel, epic-play appeared.
The scientist spoke about the structural model of folklore, images and motives of writers in modern times, as well as the possibilities of benefiting from artistic means of oral folk art and substantiated her opinion by citing examples of various works written on the basis of genre hybridization.
The lecture was met with interest by the audience, a wide exchange of views was held on the topic and questions were answered.
