We present an interview with Professor Hikmat Guliyev, Director of the Institute of Folklore ANAS, conducted within the framework of the VIII International Symposium “From the Common Turkic Past to the Common Turkic Future”.

In the interview Professor Hikmat Guliyev discusses the 100^th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, the development of scholarly cooperation across the Turkic world and the importance of preserving and transmitting the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples to future generations.
