Scientific initiatives implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev have yielded significant results in the preservation, study, and transmission of historical and cultural heritage to future generations.

In the interview with AZERTAC, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), noted that the Academy has launched important initiatives in the field of digital Turkology. He mentioned that the VIII International Scientific Symposium “From the Common Turkic Past to the Common Turkic Future” held today, has provided an important platform for broad academic discussions and represents a continuation of these efforts.

According to Academician Habibbeyli, the symposium has brought together new perspectives on the folklore, cultural heritage and scholarly achievements of both Azerbaijan and the Turkic world as a whole. Representatives of the National Commissions for UNESCO, international Turkic organizations and Azerbaijani scholars discussed the key challenges and priorities currently facing the field of Turkology.

I.Habibbeyli mentioned that significant steps are being taken to integrate the rich scholarly legacy of the First Turkological Congress into contemporary Turkological studies. He noted that the conference contributes substantially to expanding academic dialogue, identifying new research directions and advancing the fields of Turkology, folklore studies and art history.

The ANAS President also announced that new projects in the field of digital Turkology were expected to be introduced in the near future. He mentioned that alongside the development of digital capabilities and intellectual potential, one of the Academy’s key priorities is to ensure that the humanities, particularly Turkology continue to evolve in line with the demands of the modern era.
