The employees of the Institute of Folklore gave a report at the International Symposium

On the 9th of May in 2026 the employees of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS made the presentation at “The 2nd International Symposium on the Turkic World and Social Sciences in the 21st Century”, held online at the Ulus Genc Academy Conference Hall of Ankara Municipality, organized by the Eurasian Academicians’ Union Association.

In the section titled “Azerbaijan: History, Folklore and Cultural Heritage”, Shakir Albaliyev, a leading researcher of the department “Mythology”, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Associate Professor made a report on the theme “The Origin and Folklore of the Balkan Turks: Historical Approaches and Current Situation” and the report “Ashura ceremonies in South Azerbaijani folklore: ritual-semantic analysis and cultural memory” by Lala Shabanova, senior research worker of the department “Southern Azerbaijan Folklore”.  

In the reports the current issues of folklore in the modern era were looked through and proposals for their solution were made.

It is planned to publish the reports.
