The doctoral student of the Institute of Folklore made a report at the Republican Scientific Conference
The national scientific conference titled “Turkological Directions in Azerbaijani Literary Studies”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, was held at Baku Eurasian University.
Amil Azimli, a first-year doctoral student at the Folklore Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), participated in the conference. At the panel session, he delivered a presentation titled “The Transformation from the Turkish Heroic Epic to Outlaw Folklore in Azerbaijani Epic Creativity: In the Context of the “Koroglu” Tradition”.
The presentation provided a scholarly analysis of the influence of the classical Turkish heroic epic tradition Koroglu on Azerbaijani outlaw folklore of the 19th –20th centuries, as well as the transformation characteristics of the hero model under new socio-political conditions. During the discussions, the relevance of the topic from the Turkological perspective was highlighted. Professor Rustam Kamal shared his views on the presentation and offered academic recommendations to the young researcher.
At the end of the conference the certificates were presented to participants by Matana Abbasova, Head of the South Azerbaijan Department of the ANAS Folklore Institute, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Associate Professor.
