Associate Professor of the Institute of Folklore spoke at the International Scientific Symposium
PhD, Associate Professor Maleyka Mammadova, a leading researcher at the Institute of Folklore of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, participated in an international symposium held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
Associate Professor Maleyka Mammadova made a report titled “Birth Ritual Traditions in Turkic Folk Culture in the Context of Azerbaijani and Uzbek Folklore Texts” at the international symposium “Comparative Study of the Folklore of Turkic Peoples: Local Features and Scientific-Theoretical Approaches” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the prominent Uzbek folklorist, Professor Tora Mirzayev.
The report is dedicated to a comparative analysis of ritual traditions related to birth in the common cultural memory of the Turkic peoples.
In addition, Associate Professor Maleyka Mammadova also participated as a moderator within the symposium.
The symposium has become an important scientific platform for the study, preservation and transmission of the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic world to future generations.
