The book “Dede Korkut Oghuznamesi: Metaphors and Psychoanalytic Solutions” by the leading researcher at the Institute of Folklore of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Associate Professor Safa Garayev has been published in Turkey. The book was translated by Alpaslan Demir, who had special experience in translating Azerbaijani scientific and literary literature into Turkish.

In the book the world of meaning of the epic “The Book of Dede Gorgud” using a socio-anthropological and psychoanalytic approach. The first chapter of the book, which consists of two chapters, is entitled “Epic Reality and Metaphorical Meaning in the “The Book of Dede Gorgud” and the second chapter is entitled “Madness in the “The Book of Dede Gorgud”: Psycho-semantic etiology and symbolic semantics”.

One of the notable methodological innovations of the study is the analysis of numerous facts and conflicts in the epic in the context of the Oedipus complex.
