These thoughts were expressed to AZERTAC by Khalida Mammadova, a leading researcher of the Institute of Folklore of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology: “Tuesdays are one of the indispensable attributes of Nowruz. According to the beliefs, spring rituals are associated with the four elements involved in the creation of the world - water, fire, wind and earth. Wind Tuesday also holds a special place among the ceremonies greeting the arrival of spring and is considered the third in relative ranking. However, this sequence is not an axiom, but rather a conditional one. This is clearly demonstrated by the analysis of folklore materials collected from the regions regarding Tuesdays...”.
