The event was held at the Institute of Folklore of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) on the occasion of the 1^st of March - World Civil Defense Day. The main goal of the event was to inform institute employees about the rules of conduct during emergencies, environmental risk management and civil defense strategies for the sustainable future.

Abuzar Gulmammadov, Deputy Director for General Affairs of the Institute, opened the event with an introductory speech, speaking about the international significance of World Civil Defense Day and its role in social life. He noted that civil defense measures are vital for employees and mentioned the need to form a safety culture.

Later, Elshad Guliyev, Chief of the Civil Defense Staff of the Folklore Institute, gave a detailed speech on the topic “Managing environmental risks for a sustainable and stable future”, explaining in detail the importance of managing environmental and technogenic risks, emergency preparedness strategies and the operational steps that institute employees should take in these cases. Guliyev also provided practical recommendations for protecting human lives, using resources efficiently and minimizing risks during emergencies.

The event was an important event in terms of educating participants and increasing their level of preparedness for emergencies and it reaffirmed the importance of implementing civil defense within the institution by combining both scientific and practical approaches.
