The event dedicated to the commemoration day of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the at the Institute of Folklore. The event began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev. Then the video clip about the memories of the National Leader’s life and multifaceted activities prepared by the Folklore Studio was shown. Opening the event with an introductory speech, Director of the Institute of Folklore, Doctor of Sciences in Philology Hikmat Guliyev drew attention the great services of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in protecting, developing and passing on Azerbaijani national values to future generations. He especially noted the strategic importance that Heydar Aliyev attached to the preservation of the Azerbaijani language, folklore, literature and cultural heritage, mentioning that the National Leader made important decisions to preserve national culture even in the most difficult historical stages, provided great support for celebrating the anniversaries of writers and cultural figures, for making films that embody national and spiritual values.

At the same time, Hikmat Guliyev noted in his speech that the ideas of national statehood of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev are particularly relevant in the modern global context and in the current era of techno-cultural processes. In this context, Hikmat Guliyev also touched on the challenges of the modern era - issues related to digitalization and the application of artificial intelligence. The scientist, referring to the idea voiced by President Ilham Aliyev at the 80^th anniversary event of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences - that cybersecurity included not only virtual, but also physical security - noted that in modern conditions, the scientific, social and moral responsibility of scientists, researchers and intellectuals had increased even more.

In this context, the scientist looked at the responsibilities of folklore scholars in strengthening cultural security and national ideological foundations. He noted that the values living in folklore resources have great potential in the field of forming, preserving and transmitting national and cultural identity to future generations. Hikmat Guliyev noted that the Institute of Folklore also had great responsibilities in keeping alive the ideas of Heydar Aliyev and implementing the strategic goals set by President Ilham Aliyev in the fields of science and culture.

At the end of the event Doctor of Sciences in Philology Hikmat Guliyev made a speech and said that the ideas of statehood, the high value placed on national culture and spiritual values by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, still remain relevant today as a strategic line guiding Azerbaijani science, intellectual environment and cultural policy. He mentioned that the Institute of Folklore would continue its activities in the direction of researching, protecting and passing on national and spiritual values to future generations, based on the rich heritage of the Great Leader and the strategic priorities set by President Ilham Aliyev in the fields of culture and science.
