A new monograph by Professor Ramazan Gafarli, head of the department “Dede Gorgud” of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Philology, entitled “Greetings to Heydarbaba” of the “Gulustan” sorrow of “Azerbaijan” has been published.

The scientific editor and author of the foreword of the work is Professor Mahira Naghigizi (Huseynova) and the reviewers are Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Associate Professor Hikmat Guliyev and PhD in Philology Khuraman Karimova. The monograph consists of a preface, an introduction, eight main chapters and a conclusion, a glossary of terms, a list of literature and the summary in four languages. In each chapter of the book the theoretical concepts and semantic layers of poetic texts are studied.

As a general result of the monograph, Professor Ramazan Gafarli presented national poetry as a philosophy of existence. According to the scientist’s thoughts, grief is an act of poetic communication, the word is a carrier of ontological power and the poet performs the function of a mythological hero of the modern era. “Azerbaijan”, “Gulustan” and “Greetings to Heydarbaba” are the three poetic pillars of national grief.

In general, this work by Professor Ramazan Gafarli scientifically substantiates the name, word, time and space function in national existence by creating a unified ontological map of classical and contemporary poetry.

The new monograph by Professor Ramazan Gafarli constitutes a high synthesis of scientific thought, poetic lore, national consciousness and makes a significant contribution to the semiotic-synergetic approach to Azerbaijani literary studies.
