By the decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, the book “Theology” by Arif Rahimoglu was published and presented to the scientific community. The book consists of three parts. In the book Arif Rahimoglu examines the pre-Islamic monotheistic belief system of the Turks based on scientific sources. The author, who examines the philosophical and etymological foundations of the concept of God, analyzes issues such as forms of worship (prayer, vows, ceremonies) and moral principles (wisdom, honesty, etc.).

The author’s approach to language and terminology is also specific. He makes extensive use of the expressive possibilities of Azerbaijani Turkish and offers national equivalents to borrowed terms. In this regard, the book “Theology” is interesting as it proposes a special terminological system on the subject.

The book, published by the publishing house “Science and Education”, was prepared and edited by Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Professor Afzaladdin Asgar.

The scientific work “Theology” is not only a source for scholars working in the fields of religious history, philosophy, linguistics and cultural studies, but also contains new directions for young researchers. Although the untimely death of the author did not allow the completion of the research he had planned, this work can be considered a valuable source in terms of investigating the scientific foundations of the concept of theism.
