Zangezur and Western Azerbaijan folklore in the plane of new scientific approaches
The scientific research book “Zangazur folklore: from poetic word to social meaning” was published in “Savad” publishing house by the decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS.
The book includes the research articles about the nature, semantics, psychological and functional features of folklore samples in social, historical and ethnographic context belonging to Zangezur, West Azerbaijan, as well as Karabakh folklore environments. It is worth mentioning that, due to the hard work of research scientists, the collection of scientific articles, in which new views on the folklore treasury of the region are reflected, is of great importance for the modern field of folklore science. In the studies of various genres and problems of folklore by individual authors, such issues as the nature of ethnogeny texts, Cosmogony and psychosemantics of creation, the prohibition of incest, the metaphorical-symbolic nature of laughter, religious ceremonies are analyzed.

The scientific editors of the book are Professor Afzaladdin Asgar and Doctor of Sciences in Philology Sarkhan Khavari, the compiler is PhD Afag Ramazanova.
