A meeting of the Scientific Council dedicated to the semi-annual report on scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Institute of Folklore for the first half of 2025 was held. Along with members of the Scientific Council, guests from the Presidium of ANAS also attended the meeting.

Opening the meeting, Director of the Institute, Doctor of Sciences in Philology Hikmat Guliyev gave detailed information about the complex reforms carried out at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in recent years. He mentioned the importance of institutional changes in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences, which are carried out in accordance with the national interests of the country and global challenges. H.Guliyev also informed the participants about the decisions taken at the meeting of the Presidium of ANAS in Khankendi, as well as the tasks and goals set before the Institute of Folklore. The scientist noted that according to the decisions taken, the research carried out in the field of humanitarian and social sciences at ANAS will be carried out on the basis of the principles of deeper scientific integration. In particular, the joint activities of archaeologists, historians, linguists and folklorists in the complex research carried out in Karabakh and East Zangezur, the organization of research on the basis of interdisciplinary approach and exchange of experience were identified as one of the priorities.

Then the scientific secretary of the Institute, Associate Professor Elchin Abbasov brought to the attention of the participants of the meeting a report on the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the scientific institution for the first half of 2025. The report covered issues related to the implementation of decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers and state programs, research plans, international scientific cooperation, implementation of relevant decisions and orders of ANAS, the state of e-science, staff training, social activities, publications, awards and prizes.

At the meeting, some employees of the Institute of Folklore were also awarded honorary diplomas and certificates of gratitude for their effective services in the field of scientific and scientific-organizational activities.
