Associate Professor of the Institute of Folklore made a report at the International Scientific Conference
Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU) hosted the International scientific conference on the theme “Turkic world and Piri Turkestan: Yasavi path and heritage” in order to strengthen spiritual unity in Turkic-speaking states on the basis of the project put forward by Haji Bayram Veli University in Ankara.
At the conference, leading researcher of the department of Folklore and written literature of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, PhD, associate professor Aynur Ibrahimova made a report on the theme “Sacred places in the Turkic world – Al Dede centers and their social functions”.
It was noted in the report that the Turkic peoples leading the nomadic lifestyle are more able to experience folklore samples and customs, which are our national and spiritual wealth. This relative “purity” can be explained by the nomadic way of life of the people, as well as isolated conditions from neighboring cultures. The diversity of legends and rumours associated with Al-Dede hearth living in Aladagh nomads, Agri people’s beliefs and Tovuz region was remarkable.
