Students of the Institute of Folklore were awarded with certificates
The fourth-year students of the Faculty of Philology at Baku Eurasian University have successfully completed their folklore research internship at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS during the spring semester of the 2024–2025 academic year. The internship was carried out with the aim of applying the theoretical knowledge acquired by the students during the educational process in the context of modern scientific approaches and developing their research skills.
The Director of the Institute of Folklore, Associate Professor Hikmat Guliyev, greeted the students and mentioned that the internship was important for developing their ability to apply the theoretical knowledge gained at the university and for assessing their practical competencies. The scholar noted that at the Institute of Folklore, on the one hand, folklore samples were collected from different regions, systematized and published; on the other hand, scientific and theoretical research was conducted in accordance with the challenges of the modern world. The collection and publication of folklore examples was, as a whole, a service to the people – an effort to enrich the knowledge, cultural, and spiritual heritage that they created and preserved.
Then, the head of the Department of South Azerbaijani Folklore, Doctor of Philology and Associate Professor Matanat Abbasova, made a speech, mentioning that the intern students spent one month at the department, during which they enhanced their scientific and practical knowledge. During the internship, they were closely involved in the research process and acquired research skills. It was noted that during this period, the students submitted the folklore materials they had collected to the department.
Afterwards, on behalf of the intern students, Leyla Safarova, Ulduz Valiyeva, and Minakhanim Hashimova expressed their gratitude to the institute’s administration and the staff of the department they were assigned to for providing a productive and high-quality environment for their folklore research internship.
At the end, the Director of the Institute, Associate Professor Hikmat Guliyev, presented certificates to the intern students.
