The 87th issue of the journal “Dede Gorgud” has been published
The 87th issue of the scientific-literary collection “Dede Gorgud” published by the decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS has been published. The interesting scientific articles, new examples from Azerbaijani folklore, examples from Turkic peoples folklore and other articles are reflected in six rubrics in this issue of the journal published four times a year under the editorship of Doctor of of Sciences in Philology, Professor Ramazan Gafarli.
In the part of the collection “Gorgud Studies: Searches, Discoveries” the articles such as “Structural-semantic and typological analysis of the epics “The Book of Dede Gorgud” and “Koroglu” by Professor Ramazan Gafarli, “Textual repair in “The Book of Dede Gorgud” by Professor Osman Fikri Sertkaya and “Biographical time in the epic “The Book of Dede Gorgud” by Professor Ramil Aliyev were given.
In the part of the collection “Folklore Studies: problems, studies” the articles such as “Koroglu: transition from mythical hero to epic hero seeking truth” by Professor Fuzuli Bayat, “Water cult and its semantics related to ancestral cult in Azerbaijan ceremonial folklore” by PhD., associate professor Zumrud Mansimova, “Formulas of Azerbaijani proverbs and sayings “multi-leaf” or “multi-leaf rhyme”, their functional semantics” by Khankishi Mammadov, “Beliefs in Karabakh folklore” by PhD., associate professor Malayka Mammadova and Gumral Mirzayeva, “Features of narration and verbal examples (based on Azerbaijani examples)” by Elnara Huseyngizi-Amirli, In the part of “Translation materials” section, there is an article by the renowned folklorist Alan Dundes titled “Binary Opposition in Myth: The Propp/Levi-Strauss Debate in Retrospect”, adapted from the Turkish language by PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Naile Asgar.
In the section “New Samples from Azerbaijani Folklore,” examples of Western Azerbaijani folklore collected and transcribed by PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Ilkin Rustamzade are presented. In the section “Samples from Southern Azerbaijani Folklore,” examples of Gashgay folklore are featured, while in the section “New Samples from the Folklore of Turkic Peoples” samples of Iraqi-Turkmen folklore collected and prepared for publication by PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Laman Vagifgizi (Suleymanova) are included.
In the part “New Publications” of the journal the information is presented about two books by PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Asif Hajiyev (Shirvanelli): The Book of Dede Gorqud (Dresden Manuscript) and The Book of Dede Gorgud (Bursa Manuscript).
It should be noted that articles in the scientific-literary journal “Deədə Qorqud, which is included in the Index Copernicus system, have been published with a DOI index since 2023.
