On the 4^th of April in 2025 the scientific seminar on the theme “Actual problems of folklore gathering in the light of text and context relations” dedicated to Science Day was held at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS. The event was opened by the director of the Institute, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Hikmat Guliyev. He noted that according to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated April 9, 2018, March 27 is annually celebrated in our country as “Science Day”. Science is of particular importance in terms of establishing the day, assessing the work of scientists and specialists working in the field of scientific activity, promoting science. The scientist noted that this year the 80^th anniversary of the establishment of the country’s highest scientific organization – the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was celebrated. It is no coincidence that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, taking into account the role of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in the development of Science in the country, the organization of activities in this area and the training of highly qualified personnel, signed an order to celebrate the 80^th anniversary of the Academy. In this regard, a series of events dedicated to the 80^th anniversary and Science Day are planned to be held in scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS. Noting that today’s scientific seminar is dedicated to the Day of Science, the scientist brought to the attention the relevance of the issues discussed in terms of folklore studies. Associate Professor Hikmat Guliyev noted that the foundation of folklore studies begins with the collection of folklore samples from the people. But the collecting activity is directly related to the theoretical and methodological base of science.

Later, the report “Context relations of fairy tale texts” by head of the department of Collection and systematization of folklore, PhD in Philology, associate professor Ilkin Rustamzade was made. It was noted in the report that the study of folklore texts in the process of playing in a living state had become widespread in recent years and research was focused on the search for factors that form the text.

Then the leading researcher of the Department of Dede Gorgud, PhD in Philology Khuraman Karimova made a report on the theme “Folklore collector and folklore text”. She said that the collection and publication of Azerbaijani folklore was a service to the protection of national cultural heritage.

Then PhD., associate professor Atesh Ahmedli made a report on the theme “Tradition of inheritance in storytelling”. At the scientific seminar head of the department of Dede Gorgud, professor Ramazan Gafarli and the head of the department of Folklore theory, professor Fuzuli Bayat spoke about the relevance of the discussed topics, the necessity of comparative analysis with our national scientific environment and world folklore studies. It was noted that in the future, it was very important that the reports discussed were devoted to more specific problems and the active participation of young scientists and specialists. At the end the extensive exchange of views was held on the topic and the questions were answered.
