On the 11^th of March the meeting with five-year students of the Faculty of Philology of Sumgayit State University was held at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS. At the meeting, along with the students of the University, the dean of the Faculty of Philology, PhD., associate professor Gunel Pashayeva and teacher of the department of Language and literature, head of practice, PhD. Gunay Imamaliyeva took part.

Director of the Institute of Folklore, PhD. in Philology, Associate Professor Hikmat Guliyev greeted the teachers and students of Sumgayit State University and gave detailed information about the activities of the Institute, the work done in the field of scientific research and collection, achievements. He noted that in modern times, as in all fields of science in the world, new views were emerging in folklore studies. We aim to study folklore in the context of new scientific and theoretical views. At present, on the one hand, the Institute of Folklore carries out the researches in accordance with the requirements of the cultural policy implemented in our country and on the other hand, the leading scientific directions in the world. The scientist mentioned the need to expand cooperation between the Institute of Folklore and Sumgayit State University in the direction of folklore studies and implement joint measures in the future.

At the meeting the head of the department of Classical folklore, PhD. in Philology, Associate Professor Rza Khalilov and PhD. in Philology, Associate Professor Nail Gurbanov made also speeches. It was noted that during the internship, students are expected to participate closely in the scientific-research process and adopt research skills. In this research practice, issues related to folklore that are not said in the educational process will be clarified.

During the meeting, topics of interest to students, including collecting folklore, researching it on the basis of academic principles were discussed, questions were answered, photos were taken.
