The monograph “Mythopoetics of Mullah Juma’s activity” was published
By the decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS the monograph “Mythopoetics of Molla Juma’s activity” by the head of the department Education of the Institute, PhD in Philology Nizami Adishirinov was published.
In the monograph Molla Juma’s activity, who has a special place in the development of Azerbaijani ashiq art, from a mythopoetic aspect is studied.
The first chapter of the study it is said about the formation and development of ashiq art in the north-west region, the environment that shaped Molla Juma, as well as the role of Molla Juma and his students in the development of the Sheki-Zagatala ashiq school.
It is clear that every ashiq is a “child” of the environment in which he grows and forms directly. Without studying the environment that forms the ashiq, it is impossible to give an objective assessment of his work and create a complete picture of his audience. In the study the importance of involving various stories about Molla Juma in the analysis is mentioned.
One of the issues raised at the level of the problem in the monograph is the question of the identity of the master of Molla Juma.
In the second chapter of the study, Molla Juma’s activity is analyzed precisely from the mythological aspect. The issues as mythical images found in ashiq’s work, mystical-mythological space in his poems, mythical symbolism of numbers and colors are investigated. In the third chapter of the study, another issue that needs research in ashiq’s work is the typological comparison of Molla Juma’s epics with the other epics.
The scientific editor of the monograph published by publishing house “Lider print” is Professor Ramazan Gafarli, reviewers are Professor Rustam Kamal and Molla Juma’s great-grandchildren, the researcher Elman Azizov.
