Scientific session dedicated to the 21st of February – International Native Language Day was held at the Institute of Folklore

The scientific session on the theme “The language of folklore, the folklore of the language: oral tradition and digital transformations” dedicated to February 21 – International Native Language Day was held at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS. Opening the event, director of the Institute of Folklore, PhD in Philology, associate professor Hikmat Guliyev noted the exceptional merits of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the protection and comprehensive development of the Azerbaijani language. He mentioned that the state language policy in our country wass currently being implemented at a high level and successfully by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The relevant decrees, state programs and orders adopted by the Head of state on the use of the Azerbaijani language in accordance with the requirements of the time in the context of globalization, ensuring the wider use of our language in the electronic space, protecting the purity of the Azerbaijani language are the most important steps taken in this direction.

Then the reports of the Scientific Session were heard. Leading researcher of the Department of Dede Gorgud of the Institute, PhD in Philology Khuraman Karimova made a report on the theme “The yeast of our language – Azerbaijani folklore”. Leading researcher of the Department Dede Gorgud, PhD in philology Khalida Mammadova made a report on the theme “Our native language is our spiritual wealth”.

Then Director of the Institute, Associate Professor Hikmat Guliyev made a speech on the theme “The influence of digital transformations on the Azerbaijani language in the context of virtual folklore activity”.

The issues such as the state care for our language, the role of folklore in the enrichment of our language, the fundamental study of the folklore language, the impact of globalization and virtualization on our literary language, about the Azerbaijani language were also discussed by the researchers of the Institute such as deputy director of the Institute of Folklore, PhD in Philology, associate professor Afag Ramazanova, PhD in Philology, associate professor Elchin Galiboglu, PhD in Philology, associate professor Nail Gurbanov and PhD in Philology, associate professor Atif Islamzade.

At the end the thoughts were exchanged on the subject, questions were answered.
