A meeting was held at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS in connection with the beginning of the folklore research practice of the fourth-year students of the Faculty of Philology of Baku Slavic University. Along with the students of the University, the teachers of the Faculty of Philology – associate professor Adiba Mammadova, associate professor Ramida Mirzafarova, Sabina Agababayeva and Gulara Suleymanova attended the meeting.

Director of the Institute of Folklore, PhD in Philology, associate professor Hikmet Guliyev welcomed the teachers and students of Baku Slavic University and gave detailed information about the activities of the Institute, the work done in the field of scientific research and collection, and the obtained achievements. He noted that in modern times, as in all fields of science in the world, new views were emerging in folklore studies, transitions from philological-centered approaches to socio-anthropological analysis were taking place.

Then, head of the department of Folklore and written literature, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, associate professor Leyla Mammadova said that students would increase their scientific and practical knowledge through three months of practice in the department.

During the meeting interesting topics for students, including the collection of folklore, its study on the basis of academic principles were discussed, questions were answered.
